BBC presenter apologizes after accidentally giving viewers the middle finger -.

BBC presenter Maryam Moshiri recently ended up in hot water after she accidentally gave the nation the middle finger during a broadcast.

According to Moshiri, the incident was the result of a “private joke” gone wrong, but this still hasn’t stopped it from exploding on social media.

The presenter recently went to X to apologize and explain what happened. You can read her full explanation below:

“Hello all, yesterday just before the top of the hour I was joking around with the team in the stands.

“I pretended I was counting down while the director was counting me down from 10-0. including the fingers to display the number. So from 10 fingers up to one.

“When we got to 1, I jokingly turned around and didn’t realize this was going to be caught on camera.

“It was a private joke with the team and I’m so sorry it went viral! I didn’t mean for this to happen and I’m sorry if I offended or upset anyone. I was not “flipping the bird” to viewers or even a person.

It was a lame joke intended for a small number of my friends.”
