Confirmed the opening of all polling stations and a large influx in the elections in Costa Rica

MADRID, Feb. 6 (Royals Blue) –

The presiding magistrate of the Supreme Court of Elections of Costa Rica (TSE), Eugenia Zamora, has confirmed the opening of the 6,767 polling stations and a large influx in the general elections this Sunday.

“Costa Ricans have gone out to vote, vote early, vote with respect and safeguard the health of each one of us,” Zamora stressed, according to ‘Semanario Universidad’ in its digital edition.

The head of the TSE has indicated that there is information that points to a large number of people voting early, which has caused lines of people in some educational centers, although they hope to lighten the income of voters.

Zamora has reported minor incidents at the start of election day and has recalled that there is no restriction on voting, after information about the impossibility of voting for people infected with coronavirus.

In addition, Zamora has highlighted that the voting centers in Australia, China, South Korea, Japan, Singapore, Jakarta and India have already closed.

The director of the Electoral Registry, Héctor Fernández, has reported some incidents related to prosecutors and delegates without accreditation. He is also investigating the installation of awnings and guides for political parties, which cannot be present on this occasion as a preventive measure against COVID-19.
