Ubisoft says it is delaying a major title to FY 2024/2025 – That’s Gaming

In a recent fiscal report for the first half of fiscal year 2023/24, Ubisoft revealed that it is moving a major title from this fiscal year to the next. The company says this is to “maximize its value creation.”

“The overperformance in Q2 and the current positive momentum of Ubisoft’s brands build confidence for the rest of the year,” the report reads. “The Company can therefore confirm its announced guidance of strong top line growth and non-IFRS operating income of approximately €400 million, without releasing the other large game it had initially planned to launch during the last quarter of the current fiscal year.

“The Company has decided to launch this other large game in FY2024-25, so as to maximize its value creation.”

Ubisoft did not comment on which title it would be, but it may be the upcoming open world game Star Wars Outlaws. It was originally supposed to come out in 2024.

Currently, there are a few more titles lined up for Ubisoft, including Assassin’s Creed Nexus VR in November, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora in December, and Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown in January.
