The Ukrainian Emergency Service (SES) has noted in a message on Telegram that “emergency and rescue operations continue in the area of the destroyed buildings” and added that eight bodies have been found in one of them, while six others have been rescued alive. At this second site 15 people have been rescued alive, eight of whom have had to be hospitalized. At the moment there are 45 people and twelve units working in the area, without ruling out that the death toll could increase in the coming hours.

The city is outside the control of Russian forces. Zaporiyia is one of the regions annexed by Russia after the recent referendums held in the areas occupied by Russian troops, along with Donetsk, Lugansk and Kherson.
