Turkey accuses Greece of launching armored vehicles on demilitarized Aegean islands

Turkish military drones have recorded videos that would prove that Greece is deploying armored military vehicles on Aegean islands with non-militarized status, thus would be in breach of international law.

The videos would record the landing of U.S.-donated armored vehicles on the islands of Lesbos and Samos, Turkey’s official news agency Anatolia reports, citing military sources.

Specifically, it would involve two landing ships that unloaded 23 tactical armored vehicles for Lesbos and another 18 on Samos between September 18 and 21.

“These acts of Atentas against international law and against the spirit of alliance despite calls for dialogue and good neighborliness are unacceptable,” according to the source consulted by Anatolia. Turkey shows its readiness for dialogue “despite the fact that Greece does not even attend the meetings” and despite these “provocations”.
