Biden warns Russia not to use nuclear weapons in Ukraine

U.S. President Joe Biden on Saturday warned Russian authorities of the risk that would be posed by the use of nuclear weaponry in the war in Ukraine.

“They would be even more of a global pariah than they already are,” Biden said in remarks to the CBS network. Asked how Washington would react in such a case, Biden has answered evasively. “Do you think I would tell you if I knew exactly what we would do? Of course I’m not going to tell you,” he said.

However, he has made it clear that there would be consequences because “it would change the face of war.” “It would be something not seen since World War II,” he explained in the preview of the interview that will be broadcast in full on Sunday.

Meanwhile, the commander of the NATO Military Committee, Admiral Rob Bauer, has explained from Tallinn that Western military aid is making a difference in Ukraine and has assured that they will support Kiev “as long as necessary.”

“The ammunition, materiel and training that the allies and other countries are giving are making a real difference on the battlefield,” Bauer has indicated. The latest Ukrainian territorial breakthrough means that “Ukraine has fundamentally changed modern warfare.”

Bauer has explained that the Ukrainian Army is using weapons “in ways that we don’t normally use them ourselves.”
