At least one dead and two injured in second multiple stabbing in Canada in less than a week

Police in Canada reported late Wednesday that one person has died and two have been injured after being stabbed by a man in the city of Edmonton, the capital of the province of Alberta.

So far, two people have been seriously injured and one person has lost his life in what are believed to have been arbitrary assaults, similar to those that occurred over the weekend in the province of Saskatchewan, local authorities said in a statement.

For this reason, Edmonton Police have requested that all residents, pedestrians and motorists avoid the area of the incident and take shelter in their homes if possible, as there is a male suspect in the area with a knife.

The attacker has been described as a man with curly black hair, light skin, wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt and gray shirt, according to the description provided by witnesses.

“The suspect is considered dangerous and should not be approached. A heavy police presence can be expected in the area as officers search for the suspect,” Edmonton Police have detailed in the missive.

This attack comes just days after two men carried out a multiple stabbing claiming the lives of ten people and injuring 18 others at various locations around the city of Saskatoon.
