2024 Formula E calendar brings racing to Japan and China -.

The 2024 Formula E calendar begins next week as teams and drivers head to Valencia, Spain to test their new cars before racing actually starts in the new year. With this being the case, the FIA has now unveiled the full calendar for the 2024 season and announced that Formula E will move to two new regions next year.

The season begins with a race in Mexico City in January, before heading to Diriyah in Saudi Arabia for two back-to-back races. This will be followed by a return to Hyderabad in India before heading to Sao Paulo in Brazil. This will then lead to the first new region, Tokyo Japan, all before returning to Europe for back-to-back races at an undisclosed location in Italy.

The second half of the season begins in Monaco, before heading to Berlin, Germany for back-to-back offerings. The second new venue comes next, with Shanghai, China getting two races, before Formula E heads to Portland, U.S. for one race. The season then concludes with a back-to-back offering in London for rounds 15 and 16 in July.

Speaking about the 2024 calendar, co-founder and chief championship officer of Formula E, Alberto Longo, stated: “The combination of street circuits, which is in Formula E’s DNA, and established racing circuits will allow drivers to push the capabilities of the GEN3 car harder and further after a first season that beat all expectations with triple-digit overtakes in most races and world championship titles decided in the final weekend.”
