Don’t panic, but this is really serious: Xenopurge has officially landed in Early Access on Steam. Developer Traptics and publisher Firesquid today kicked off this futuristic mix of roguelike tactics and auto-battler gameplay. And as if that doesn’t sound inviting enough, the game is temporarily available at 20 percent off for $12.49.
In Xenopurge instead of crawling into the line of fire yourself, you take your place behind a retro-futuristic command panel as an officer of M.A.C.E., Mercer’s Advanced Combat Enterprises. You set the strategy, coordinate your squad and hope your troops survive on the battlefield … which isn’t exactly a given in this harsh world of interstellar mercenaries.
Your units are tough, loyal and heavily armed, but lack the overview. That’s where you come in. You lead them through battles, adjusting your approach to new threats and trying to keep your team alive. Because in this profession, the pay is high, but the life expectancy is low.
Along with the Early Access version, the demo is also available again on Steam. This contains a shortened, but replayable mini-campaign that gives you a taste of the chaotic action and strategic depth that Xenopurge has to offer.
