World of Warships announces partnership with Popeye – That’s Gaming

Wargaming, the publisher and developer of the leading maritime multiplayer game World of Warships, today announced an official partnership with pop-culture icon Popeye the Sailor Man in a special collaboration to mark World Ocean Month. This collaboration will take place along with a charity partnership, which will be announced prior to content availability. World Ocean Month takes place each June and is an annual celebration of our ocean and a platform to create awareness about the work needed to preserve Earth’s largest ecosystem.

The Popeye Charity Bundle will feature in-game commanders Popeye and Bluto, including custom voice-overs, two flags and a unique camouflage for the Tier VII USS Colorado.

Popeye, the iconic spinach-eating sailor and champion of a clean ocean, is owned by King Features Syndicate, part of Hearst and home to some of the world’s most popular entertainment characters. A longtime advocate of ocean conservation, Popeye announced in 2020 its representation of The SeaCleaners, an organization dedicated to long-term and global ocean conservation, joining the fight against plastic pollution and raising awareness of its ocean conservation efforts. This partnership with Wargaming continues Popeye’s commitment to sustainability and ocean conservation.

World of Warships is the world’s leading free-to-play maritime warfare game from Wargaming, where players battle each other in the largest library of historically accurate warships from the 20th century.
