When OnePlus 10T, the brand’s next flagship, launches

OnePlus has officially announced the date when we’ll see its next high-end smartphone. After a launch earlier this year for a single OnePlus 10 Pro model without a non-pro variant, it looks like we’ll be getting the OnePlus 10T, a “standard” high-end model without a “Pro” variant, in early August. The launch event will take place on August 3 in New York, and with the new phone will also debut OnePlus’ new OxygenOS 13 software.

OnePlus 10T will offer improvements over spring’s 10 Pro model

Information about the OnePlus 10T has already been circulating around the internet for the past few weeks, and it looks like we’ll once again be dealing with a flagship configuration, as well as significant improvements over the already released OnePlus 10 Pro. For example, the new model is expected to feature a 6.7″ OLED display at 120Hz, but with flat, not rounded edges. This will certainly please some potential customers, especially when we see that in recent years many companies have moved away from the idea of a curved screen.

The hardware configuration will be powered by a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor, Qualcomm’s newest top-end chipset, along with up to 12GB RAM, 256GB storage and a 4,800 mAh battery with 150W fast charging. This wouldn’t be the first phone model with such a high charging speed, but it would be the second model from OnePlus, following the mid-range OnePlus OnePlus Ace, launched just a few months ago.

OnePlus 10T - August 3

Being a “non-pro” model, the camera system will be a bit different than the OnePlus 10 Pro. Instead of an advanced three-camera system, we’ll be dealing with a system with one advanced camera and two more modest secondary cameras. A Hasselblad-branded 50-megapixel sensor is expected for the main camera, an 8-megapixel “mid-range” sensor for ultra-wide, and a 2-megapixel “macro” camera.

OxygenOS 13 to debut alongside new phone

However, these compromises could bring this model to market at a more affordable price. It’s rumoured to cost between 3,000 and 4,000 yuan in China, or between €435 and €580. At a similar price, the new Nothing Phone (1), launched by OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei, offers a mid-range processor.

Alongside the OnePlus 10T, which is sure to attract most of the attention at the event, OnePlus also promises us a debut of OxygenOS 13, its new Android 13-based operating system. It won’t be released until the fall, however, after the official launch of Google’s OS. However, OnePlus is usually one of the first Google partners to bring an update to market for its recent phones, so the OnePlus 10 Pro and probably the OnePlus 9 versions will get the OxygenOS 13 update before the end of the year.

The company has also released a first press image of the OnePlus 10T, which appears to show the phone with a textured back reminiscent of the first OnePlus One model.
