First prepared for launch in China, Vivo X80 Pro is expected both in Dimensity 9000 equipment, but also with Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, the top of the range most likely reaching European stores.
According to unofficial information, Vivo X80 and X80 Pro version will be released for the Chinese market on April 25, the launch of the version intended for international markets has not been confirmed yet.
The X80 series is expected with a triple-camera system, respectively lenses signed by the famous Zeiss brand. Apparently, the main attraction will be the Zeiss T * protection, effective both against accidental scratches, but also as a filter against unwanted visual artifacts, noticeable especially around strong light sources, in pictures taken at night.
The preliminary list of specifications mentions a photo configuration with 50MP IMX866 (RGBW) main sensor, assisted with optical image stabilization technology. The recipe is complemented by an ultra-wide 48MP camera (Sony IMX598 sensor) and a 12MP telephoto camera (Sony IMX663 sensor with 2X optical zoom). The bad news is that the top of the range Vivo omits Periscope technology, and fans of “high volume” zoom photos will have to look for other solutions.
The Vivo X80 will be built around a 6.56 ”LTPO Full HD + screen with variable refresh rate. It will use the newly launched MediaTek Dimensity 8000 chipset and will benefit from LPDDR4X memory. Configurations will reach up to 12 GB. The Pro model takes the technology to revise the LTPO E5 and the diagonal to 6.78 inches, while the selection of chipsets also opens to the popular Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. According to rumors, Vivo X80 Pro + will be announced this month, but the problems caused by quarantine measures for pandemic management COVID-19 could push the launch date in stores until after the middle of this year, the factories responsible for its assembly are currently closed.
