A transaction showing the transfer of 40,000 Ethereum (ETH) was seen on the channel on Thursday. Interestingly, the transfer was reportedly made from a wallet created by Vitalik Buterin.
Following the dumping of ETH by hacker FTX earlier this week, the price of Ethereum has since recovered slightly. At the time of writing, the price of ETH stands at $1,195, up 2.75 percent over the past 24 hours, according to price tracking platform CoinMarketCap.
Ethereum transfer from an address linked to Vitalik Buterin?
Recently, Ethereum has seen a sharp decline due to the FTX crash. The announcement of FTX’s bankruptcy has made the situation even more difficult for investors in the crypto market. According to Etherescan data, a transaction worth 40,000 Ether was seen from the sender name marked Vb 3. Amidst the falling ETH prices, Ethereum whales seized the opportunity of the drop. The whales added more than $1 billion worth of ETH when the price dropped after FTX collapsed. In fact, blockchain data showed that November 21 marked the 5th largest accumulation of whales in a single day last year.
In addition, the FTX hacker converted all assets to ETH, which caused some confusion around the crypto-currency. At one point, the hacker became the 33rd largest Ethereum (ETH) holder, surpassing some of the largest exchanges with assets worth over $280 million.
