The first full trailer for Oppenheimer, directed by the incomparable Christopher Nolan, has been officially released.
In case you’re curious, you can see the trailer in the footer of this article.
Cillian Murphy (who you saw and loved in Peaky Blinders) stars in the epic thriller based on the creation of the first atomic bomb.
Murphy plays J. Robert Oppenheimer, the American theoretical physicist credited as the “father of the atomic bomb.” The film directed and written by Nolan is based on the paper “American Prometheus,” co-written by Kai Bird and Martin J. Sherwin.
“We imagine what the future might look like, and our predictions are dire. They’ll be afraid of it until they have a chance to understand it, and they won’t really understand it until they use it,” the Oppenheimer character, played by Murphy, can be heard saying in the trailer.
And that’s not all, he continues, “Theory will only get you so far. I don’t know if we can really trust a weapon like that, but we don’t have much choice.”
