Valencia Game City, an ambitious public-private initiative that seeks to position Valencia as an international benchmark in the video game and esports industry, will celebrate this Tuesday, September 17, the official inauguration of its space in the La Harinera Innovation Center.
This project, promoted by the City Council of Valencia in the framework of the strategy Valencia Innovation Capital together with the local video game and esports ecosystem, aims to create a space for innovation and collaboration to boost the growth of this industry in the city. The inaugural event will be attended by the Mayor of Valencia, María José Catalá, and the Councilor for Tourism, Innovation and Investment Attraction, Paula Llobet, as well as leading representatives of the sector.
Valencia Game City is presented as a meeting point for companies, startups, educational institutions and video game professionals, promoting the attraction of talent, the development of new technologies, and the creation of a dynamic environment for training and entrepreneurship.
Among the main projects and spaces that attendees will be able to get to know at the inauguration are the PC ProGaming Spacewhere the Municipal Esports Leagues will be presented with the participation of local clubs such as Ramboot and Oxygen Gaming. The Racing Simulation Space which has been launched in collaboration with the Ricard Tormo Circuit and is focused on the development of innovations in the field of Sim Racing. The VR LAB is a laboratory for local startups dedicated to virtual and augmented reality where they can develop and test their prototypes. Or the Project IncubatorThis is an acceleration program for gaming, gamification and virtual reality start-ups. In addition to the Digital Art Exhibitionan exhibition that combines Sorolla’s art with video games, coordinated by María Tinoco, coordinator of the hub.
