Lidl will once again offer a smart scale with body analyzer on offer on April 26th. The Sanitas device transmits the data via Bluetooth connection to the dedicated application.
The scale calculates: body weight, fat percentage, body water level, muscle mass, bone mass, body mass index (BMI) and calorie requirements for each user. Users have 10 storage spaces, and the information is displayed on a monochrome LCD screen.
Scales of this kind are based on bioimpedance analysis. They transmit a weak electric current through the user’s body and determine its permeability in different areas. For example, the percentage of fluid in the fat layer is lower than that in the muscle layer, so it has a higher current resistance.

The device sold by Lidl carries a maximum weight of 150 kilograms and will be warranted for three years. The scale works with batteries.

The model sold by Lidl costs 100 lei. The dedicated app, Sanitas HealthCoach, is available for Android and iOS operating systems.
The product will be available in two colors, black and gray.
Lidl also sold a SilverCrest body analyzer scale in March, but the model did not have an application.
