Michael LaRosa, spokesman for the first lady of the United States, Jill Biden, has announced Tuesday his departure from the White House, according to sources close to the matter have revealed to CNN television network.
LaRosa joined the White House press team as Biden’s spokesman in 2019 during the presidential campaign of the now president, Joe Biden. He was subsequently named Jill Biden’s spokesperson in January 2021.
“For nearly three years, since the election campaign, Michael has brought his encyclopedic knowledge of politics and the media to my team, as a spokesman and as an adviser,” the first lady has indicated in statements to the aforementioned network.
In this sense, she has indicated that it is a “small” team, where “loyalty and friendship prevail”. “We will miss him although we are happy for him, who begins a new chapter in his career,” she added.
His resignation has been on the table for the past few weeks, so the White House has been aware from the start. Now, the Presidency will have to look for a replacement.
