Universal announces plans to open Horror Unleashed location in Chicago -.

Universal has been growing and expanding its theme park business at a mega pace lately, as the entertainment company has announced plans to open a British theme park, while also recently opening the doors to its new destination in Orlando. But that won’t be all, as plans have been revealed to launch a new Horror Unleashed location, with this set to land in Chicago, Illinois.

It will be the second location for Horror Unleashed’s immersive entertainment experience after its destination in Las Vegas, and the first foray into the region for Universal’s theme park operations. It will be based on Chicago Avenue and in terms of what it can offer fans, said Page Thompson, president of Universal Destinations & Experiences:

“Universal Horror Unleashed delivers on our promise to create highly immersive and terrifying horror experiences that connect with fans year-round. We are excited to bring this bold concept to life in Chicago, a city known for its vibrant culture. We are grateful for the city’s support in transforming this sleepy site into a unique attraction that showcases our storytelling expertise and ability to provide stunning experiences that shatter guests’ expectations.”

Specific information or opening dates are still only being pitched, as the only other bits of information are that the experience will be “higher-level stories” will offer those “will deliver immersive, horror-focused entertainment that goes beyond theme parks, bringing terrifying thrills, frightening environments and unforgettable scares to guests.” Expect this to extend to the food and beverage options offered and the merchandise available.
