A new Harry Potter theme park has been built in Tokyo, Japan, opening this Friday.
Built on the site of the Toshimaeen theme park, which closed in 2020, the new theme park recreates iconic locations from the magical franchise, including Diagon Alley and the Ministry of Magic.
Torben Jensen, vice president and general manager of Warner Bros. Studio Tour Tokyo, said that “increasing inbound visitors to Japan will put us at the center of the regional market.” and he believes that Asian fans will now experience something that Western audiences have had for some time.
Tickets to the park cost 6,300 yen, equivalent to about $45. Jensen said tickets were sold out well into August.
