The Ukrainian Children’s Prosecutor’s Office has reported that 213 children have died and 389 have been injured in attacks carried out by Russia since the beginning of its invasion of the country, on February 24, until this Sunday.
Most of the child victims, counting deaths and injuries, have been recorded in the capital region, kyiv, with 129, followed by Donetsk, with 120, Kharkov (91), Chernigov (66), Mikolaiv (40), Kherson (41), Zaporizhia (27), Yitomir (15) and Sumy (16).
Likewise, the Prosecutor’s Office has denounced that 1,500 educational institutions have suffered material damage since the beginning of the invasion, 102 of which have been completely destroyed.
The United Nations has estimated some 2,500 civilians killed and nearly 3,000 wounded since the start of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, according to the United Nations estimate, which details approximately 184 children killed and 286 wounded since the beginning of the war.
