Solana Mobile a strongly reduced the tariff from Saga while the smartphone comes just out.
Solana Mobilethe smartphone arm of Solana, announced last night that it was reducing its price of its only product, the Sagawhich made its debut in April 2023.
Initially priced at $1,000, the smartphone is now sold for 599 dollarsa discount of around 40%.
Saga’s price reduction is the next step in broadening Web3 adoption and continuing to improve the experience of the Solana mobile community,” Solana Mobile said on X on Wednesday.

“Over the past four months, users of Saga have embraced the mobile-first experience and rewards like the exclusive mint Claynosaurz. We are constantly adding new benefits such as authorization lists and NFT drops, as well as innovative applications to the Solana dApp Store,” added Solana Mobile.
Saga is Android-based and packs a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip, 12GB of RAM, 512GB of storage and a 6.67-inch OLED display. The product features a biometric guard solution named Seed Vault and supports DApps.
While Web3 smartphones have so far all more or less made flopsthe Saga seems to be no exception, with this sharp price cut just 5 months after its launch.
Closely linked to FTX, the Solana suffered particularly from the collapse of alleged swindler Sam Bankman Fried’s empire last year. His token SOL has fallen by 90% since reaching its ATH in November 2021. Also, untimely outages have tarnished the reputation of the Ethereum killer blockchain.
