The flagship Moto Edge X30 receives a European launch date

The Moto Edge X30, Motorola’s most powerful phone of the moment, has been launched for the Chinese market since the end of last year. With slightly different features and probably a different name, the version for western markets is confirmed with an official teaser.

Equipped with the same Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset from Qualcomm, the European version of the Edge X30 will be presented on 24 Februaryshortly before the start of the MWC 2022 exhibition. It is not yet clear whether the invitation to the launch event is just for the new flagship, or a whole series of Motorola phones.

In addition to the top specs, the Chinese version of the phone has been highlighted by other interesting innovations, such as the ability to hide the front camera behind the screen.

According to rumors, the European version would be called Moto Edge 30 Pro, differing only in a few non-essential aspects of the list of specifications. Thus, we will find the same Qualcomm chipset, 6.7-inch OLED screen, FHD + resolution and 144Hz refresh rate, the two-sensor photo configuration of 50MP + 2MP auxiliary sensor, and the 5000 mAh battery with fast charging of 68W.

One aspect that will certainly change is the price, which in Chinese stores starts at about 420 euros (2999 yuan) for the version with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage. The most expensive model, equipped with an under-screen camera, costs about 560 euros and only comes with 12 GB RAM and 256 GB storage. Of course, the price will increase outside of China due to shipping costs and customs duties, but it will be interesting to see what “optimizations” Motorola has applied to the set of specifications.
