Madrid in Gamean initiative of the Madrid City Council, will welcome 50 startups at the II edition of the Entrepreneurship Program in the Development Center from Campus del Videojuego in Madrid. Beginning on September 18 and lasting six months, these entrepreneurs will develop their companies with the objective of to accelerate them and turn them into solvent projects of reference for the sector..
Adapting to the different projects according to their maturity stage, each of the companies included in the Entrepreneurship Program are distributed into three phases, pre-incubation, incubation and acceleration.in order to adapt to its vital moment as a company. With this project, the Madrid City Council aims to attract, promote, retain, strengthen talent and generate direct jobs in the video game industry..
Participating startups will receive personalized advice, fundraising support, presence at events, and expert support. in three pillars: business, product and person. Likewise, they will have workspaces that will include state-of-the-art sound, video and virtual and augmented reality laboratories.as well as other cutting-edge tools to help them generate their ideas, both from a technical and business perspective.
Being one of the most ambitious incubation and acceleration programs in Europe, Madrid in Game and its Entrepreneurship Program, renamed for the second call as. Start IN Up Programhas become an accelerator of reference companies in the videogame industry.
They will be 30 new startups that will join this second edition of the program from different areas of the sector. Of the selected companies, the 77% are based in Madrid, 20 are video game developers, 10 belong to or are related to the Esports sector. and the remaining focus on industry-related technologies.
20 companies from the first call of the Entrepreneurship Program continue at Madrid in Game to continue working on their projects by changing their maturity phase. Entrepreneurship program: successes of the first call for proposals
Many of the startups participating in the first edition achieved great success during their six months at the Development Center. Nwarea game streaming service, has signed an agreement with Microsoft to offer Xbox and Activision games on their app; Clivia gaming ecosystem for gamers, streamers and professionals, has managed to close a funding round of 392.000€.; SecondWorldlaunched Ball Guys Furry Roadhis first videogame for mobile devices.
The accelerator has also generated synergies between the different companies, with the following event being of particular note. Sinfrenos Leagueone of the most important championships of the Rocket League in Spain, which under the organization of HaveFunGamersjoined other firms such as Latido Shop, Conwiro, Algon Games, Wiper Gaming or Beetested. in which they enjoyed a day of electronic sports in the Esports Center of the Campus of the video game.
This initiative helps to create a community around Madrid in Game where to foster the talent of startups and entrepreneurs, especially in the first steps of a business idea, where more advice and guidance is needed. The Madrid City Council seeks to support all those people who innovate while creating wealth and jobs in Madrid. The participation figures of the first edition make us very optimistic about the projection of this program and the return obtained by the startups after their passage through the Campus del Videojuego.
