Team Liquid and Cloud9 join League of Legends KeSPA Cup 2025

The KeSPA Cup 2025an off-season League of Legends tournament organized by Korea’s esports governing body (KeSPA), will feature two LCS teams for the first time. The North American organizations Team Liquid and Cloud9 will join the competition, which will take place from December 6 to 14.

In addition to Team Liquid and Cloud9, the KeSPA Cup will feature all 10 LCK teams, as well as two all-star squads from Japan and Vietnam. The four teams will compete for a total prize pool of 100 million South Korean won, an increase of 20 million from the 2024 edition.

It should be noted that the event will be broadcast exclusively on Disney+ and is sponsored by peripheral brand Logitech G. As for broadcast exclusivity, the release does not specify whether these are global broadcasts or only in Korea.

KeSPA Cup 2025’s revamped format

With two additional teams, the 14 teams will be divided into three different groups, each of which will play one-round league matches. All matches will be best-of-one. The first-place team from each group will advance directly to the semifinals, while the second-place teams will advance to the qualifying round. Those teams will play a best-of-three league series to determine which organization advances to the knockout phase.

The top four will be placed in a double-elimination bracket with a best-of-three series in the first two rounds and a best-of-five in the grand final. The group stage and knockout phase will be held online from December 6-9, while the final phase will be played offline at the Sangam Forest Colosseum from December 11-14.
