Competitors have gathered in the town of Llanwrtyd Wells, Wales, to see who is the World Bog Snorkeling champion. The competition takes place once a year in this small town, with athletes riding through 55 meters of a gully cut through a bog.
It’s actually a lot of slimy, muddy water. Fortunately, you have your snorkel to keep your mouth water-free. However, you can’t swim normally in this piece of slime, and so you’ll have to figure out another way to get through it. Flippers are allowed, which can give you an extra power boost.
The most recent race was the 35th annual event, where participants hoped to improve the 1 minute and 18 second world record set by Neil Rutter in 2018.
Do you think you would be good at Bog Snorkeling?
