8BitDo is known for its retro controllers and peripherals, but it is not known as a keyboard manufacturer. Or rather, it wasn’t …
Because 8BitDo has now announced and raised the curtain on its very first mechanical keyboard, and this device would be “inspired by the classics”, which refers mainly to the NES and the Famicon.
The keyboard has 2.4G wireless Bluetooth support, or can be wired. It has a “Ultimate Software” for custom button assignment and comes with two dual “Super Buttons” to boot up. As for connectivity, the device is said to be Windows and Android compatible, and it comes in one of two variants, the N and Fami editions, with N referring to the Nintendo Entertainment System and Fami referring to the Famicon.
The keyboards will retail for $99.99 and ship starting Sept. 20, 2023.
