Stray Kids and Twenty One Pilots to soundtrack Arcane season 2

Riot Gamesdeveloper of the video game, has unveiled the musical artists that will be part of the official soundtrack of the second season. of the animated television series, Arcanefrom League of Legends. The soundtrack, created in collaboration with Virgin Music Groupincludes songs by artists such as Twenty One Pilots, Stray Kids and Stromae.among others.

Each track is an “original composition” that has been created from the animated series, which is scheduled to premiere in November 2024. The biggest name on this list is undoubtedly Twenty One Pilots. Formed in 2019, the band is known for their hit songs ‘Stressed Out’ and ‘Heathens’. This is not the first time a big name in the music scene has been involved in Arcane, ‘Enemy’ by Imagine Dragons was created for the soundtrack of the first season.

Over the years, Riot Games has used its popular IPs (VALORANT and League of Legends) to invest heavily in the music sector. This has included major collaborations with musical artists for their esports events and even creating their own musical groups using League of Legends characters.

Last year, Riot Games also expanded its partnership with record label BMG. In doing so, the two parties have collaborated to sign publishing deals with composers for Riot Games’ music projects.

The inclusion of Stray Kids in the soundtrack marks Riot Games’ integration into the K-pop industry. In 2018, the developer created the virtual girl group K/DA for the League of Legends Worlds in Korea. In addition, for both VALORANT Champions 2024 and League of Legends Worlds 2023 have featured anthems from K-pop artists KISS OF LIFE and New Jeans, respectively.

Another popular name included in the list is Stromae, a Belgian singer and rapper who currently has over 12M monthly listeners on Spotify. His most popular song is Alors on danse, hit from 2009.

Arcane’s innovative musical approach inspired an incredibly diverse group of artists from many genres, languages and cultures who wanted to be part of this new season. We also wanted to represent the global reach of League of Legends by working with artists from around the world. Each song was a unique collaboration between the artists, our showrunners and Riot’s composers. The music is the heartbeat of the League community and we can’t wait for our fans to experience this epic album to deepen their connection to these powerful stories.
