After several months of leaks, speculation and unofficial information, Samsung is finally ready to announce the new series of Galaxy S22 smartphones. It seems that the information that arrived on the internet yesterday was based on real information, which arrived on the internet just a few hours before the official announcement. Samsung thus confirms the date of the Galaxy Unpacked event “The Epic Standard”, which will take place, as we already knew, on February 9, starting with 17:00 in Romania.
The Galaxy S22 Ultra seems to be the only “notable” model in the series
Samsung’s invitation to the virtual event says that everything will be viewable on Samsung’s YouTube channel and will include the announcement of the most “notable” S-series phone to date. This suggests that the Galaxy S22 Ultra will benefit from the advantages of the Note series, even if it is included in the S range of devices. It is also mentioned that we will discover “what I thought was impossible to do with a smartphone”. This is either an exaggeration, or Samsung is even preparing some surprises that we don’t know about, probably on the software side.
In addition to the Galaxy S22 Ultra, we expect to see the other two devices in the series: S22 “standard” and S22 +. They will use a design rather close to that of the Galaxy S21 series, and may not receive very large room upgrades. However, all variants will be equipped with either Exynos 2200 processors or Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. Most likely, the tradition of the past will be preserved, and the European versions will be delivered with Exynos processors.
However, there is still a chance that the Romanian models will use Qualcomm, as the Galaxy S21 FE came with Snapdragon 888. This model comes in other countries with the Exynos 2100, the chip I found on the original S21 models. since the beginning of last year.
