Samsung announces Galaxy A13, Galaxy M23 5G and Galaxy M33 5G, three phones accessible with fluid screens

Samsung has launched three new budget smartphones from the Galaxy A and Galaxy M families: A13, M23 5G and M33 5G. They enjoy fluid screens, large batteries, and some even come with 5G modems. These will probably be the company’s best-selling models in 2022, offering a good mix of good basic performance at affordable prices. Unfortunately, we don’t know yet how much the new phones will cost, but most likely, they will keep the prices of similar models from previous years.

Galaxy A13: the budget phone that many will choose

The Galaxy A13 model is the only one of the three that does not come with a 5G modem. The budget phone has 4G connectivity, but it is equipped with a 6.6 ”diagonal Full HD Infinity-V screen at 90Hz. Even though Samsung is a company known for popularizing OLED screens, all three new phones are models equipped with LCD screens.

The Galaxy A13 uses a 2.2 GHz octa-core processor (Samsung doesn’t say which model), in configurations with 3, 4 or 6 GB of RAM and 32, 64 or 128 GB of internal storage. Of course, there is also a microSD slot. The phone is powered by a 5,000 mAh battery, with a fast charge of 15W, and the camera system is an “ordinary” one for the cheap price range. Even if it integrates 4 cameras on the back, only the first two are really “useful”.

The main camera has a wide f / 1.8 lens with 50 megapixel sensor, the secondary camera has an ultra wide f / 2.2 lens and 5 megapixel sensor, while the macro and depth cameras have 2 megapixels with f / 2.4 lenses. The front camera has 8 megapixel resolution and f / 2.2 lens.

Galaxy M23 and M33 bring large batteries, 120 Hz screens and faster charging

The M range models are slightly better equipped than the A13. Both are equipped with 5G modems and similar screens on 6.6 ”LCD technology with Full HD + resolution and 120 Hz refresh rate. There are some differences in the processor, it seems: the Galaxy M33 5G model has an octa-core chipset at 2.4 GHz, while the M23 5G comes with a 2.2 GHz processor. The M23 comes in a single configuration with 4 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage, while the M33 comes with 6 or 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. Both have a microSD slot, but the batteries differ: 5,000 mAh for the M23 and 6,000 mAh for the M33. Both charge fast at 25W.

In terms of cameras, the M33 5G has a camera system almost identical to the one on the Galaxy A13, with 50 megapixels wide, 5 megapixels ultra wide and two 2 megapixel cameras for depth and macro. The difference lies in the aperture of the macro lens, f / 2.2, which can gather more light.

Galaxy M23 5G uses the same 50 megapixel sensor for the main camera, but it comes with an 8 megapixel ultrawide and a 2 megapixel depth camera. This model thus abandons the macro.

As I said at the beginning, Samsung has not yet confirmed the prices for Romania, but we will find these phones in store offers starting with the second half of March, so these details will be communicated very soon.
