Riot Games unveils plans for new EMEA esports headquarters in Berlin

Riot Gamesthe leading video game publisher and esports tournament operator, has unveiled its plans for its new esports headquarters in EMEA (Europe, the Middle East and Africa) in preparation for the 2024 esports season.

The venue, which was formerly the LEC Studio, will be renamed Riot Games Arena and will be located in Adlershof, Berlin. With this major upgrade, the venue will become a pioneering, flexible and dedicated esports facility, serving all current and future Riot Games Esports products held in the region.

The Riot Games Arena Berlin to offer enhanced stadium and fan experienceas well as enhanced relay and production capabilities, with the use of the Riot Games Remote Broadcast Center based in Dublin and powered by AWS.. Through the use of digital technology and innovative infrastructure design, these enhancements will allow the facility to seamlessly switch between any Riot Games Esports league and its brands, while ensuring that all events are produced to Riot Games standard.

The venue will predominantly host all League of Legends EMEA, Championship (LEC) and VALORANT Champions Tour (VCT) EMEA shows.live and with a full audience. In addition, it will have the ability to simultaneously host other Riot Games EMEA Esports events remotely, including. VALORANT Challengers Ascension, VALORANT EMEA Game Changers, EMEA Masters and Team Fight Tactics (TFT).

A key aspect of the facility will be the revamped fan experience, both for those attending in person and those watching from home. The fans who come to the studio will enjoy an experience that will fully immerse them in any event Riot Games EMEA Esports event, from the moment they arrive until they leave.

In the meantime, three booths dedicated to broadcasting, two booths dedicated to co-streaming, an LED screen on stage and all the theatrical and broadcasting equipment.combine to offer fans a greater variety and quality of Riot Games EMEA Esports home broadcasts, produced in-house.

When planning the redevelopment, we have taken the needs and desires of players and fans very much into account. At the facility, we want to offer them an experience that brings them closer to our worlds, immersing them more fully into the Riot Games universes. Since a large portion of our fan base watches from home, we also needed to put a lot of emphasis on the quality and diversity of our broadcast and production, to enhance their personal viewing experience.

Fans coming to the arena will enjoy amphitheater-style seating, new cinema seating and a layout that will bring them closer to the players thanks to the addition of a dedicated player tunnel. In addition, an adaptable stage and table area will allow the arena to change its design and layout efficiently to suit whichever Riot Games Esports league is being held that day.
