Rhythm Festival Review ( Playstation 5 ) – That’s Gaming

Two years ago, there was already Taiko No Tatsujin The Drum Master for Playstation 4 and Xbox One. The game managed to be highly addictive and rhythm fans couldn’t have their fun in the game. Now there is the full version for Xbox Series S/X and Playstation 5. We have fully checked out the game and below you can read our verdict!

To briefly explain Taiko No Tatsujin. The game is most easily compared to a Guitar Hero game. You have to press the right buttons at the right time. In the Arcade halls, you can play this game on drums. These drums are also compatible with the Xbox Series S/X and Playstation 5. You can see this when you start up a song because the game asks if you want to play with controller or drum controller. You get the hang of the game very quickly with the regular normal controller.

Taiko No Tatsujin has a whole mountain of songs to bring to you ( read about 125 ). You can try these songs at four difficulty levels. You get different smileys through the screen that you have to press on your controller. The red smiley is the Bass and the blue smiley is the Slap. You also have yellow smileys that mean you have to drum like crazy or button bash. The music is divided into several genres. For example, you have Pop, classical, gaming, Namco originals among the list and many more. All these genres have about 20 to 30 songs available to you. Some songs were previously DLC but all of them are now selectable in this version.

The game has a small storyline that is not very special. In the storyline, you go as Don-Chan to the fictional city of Omiko where you have to go and manage to become the Taiko Master. There is also mini-game island where you can undertake different types of mini-games as they were in the original.

There is also the ability to purchase more songs through the Music Pass. This is a paid service where you do get the ability to add some 700 songs to your catalog. Should you be completely addicted to the game, this is a nice addition though.

Also present in the game is multiplayer where you can go up against fellow online drummers. This again provides an extra bit of challenge.

Conclusion

All in all, Taiko No Tatsujin: Rhythm Festival has become the ultimate version of the previously released title. With many songs to play and the welcome change between just playing and the mini-games as well as multiplayer, there is something for everyone in the game and you will have plenty to do.
