Reebok joins Nike and Adidas in the metaverse

The sports equipment manufacturer Reebok gets closer to the company specializing in metaverse and the web3 Futureverse to create experiments based on the blockchain for its customers.

Reebok announced on Thursday that it had entered into a partnership with Futureversea New Zealand company born of the merger of several startups working around AI, blockchain, Web3 and the metaverse.

The alliance aims to develop solutions leveraging artificial intelligence, blockchain games as well as metaverse experiences for consumers, according to a release.

In 2024, the equipment manufacturer and web3 expert will launch ” Reebok Impact “a “breathtaking digital basketball experience”.

Our partnership with Futureverse and the upcoming launch of Reebok Impact allow us to transcend the traditional boundaries of innovation to engage our consumers in the digital evolution of our products in a way that redefines the realm of possibility,” commented Reebok boss Todd Krinsky.

With this initiative, Reebok is following in the footsteps of its rivals Adidas, Puma and Nike, all of whom have moved into the Web3 and metaverse. This year, both the brand with the 3 stripes and the one with the panther organized sales in NFT format for physical sneakers. Nike is now focusing more on 100% digital sneakers.

We are more than delighted to announce our partnership with Reebok. This collaboration is a revolutionary fusion of AI, Web3, gaming and metaverse technologies, destined to transform how consumers define digital fashion,” enthused Futureverse co-founders Shara Senderoff and Aaron McDonald.

Last summer, the joint venture’s leaders announced a $50 million investment fund aimed at investing in blockchain projects.
