Frontier Developments has announced that its upcoming real-time strategy game, Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Realms of Ruin, is now available as an open beta on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. Players can now download the beta and participate in 1-on-1 multiplayer matches. The beta also supports cross-play between consoles and PC.
The open beta of Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Realms of Ruin features two factions: Stormcast Eternals and Orruk Kruleboyz. Players not interested in trying out the multiplayer can also play 1-on-1 matches against an AI bot.
A core feature of Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Realms of Ruin is the unique controller-based control scheme called DirectStep. Players can try out the control scheme on all platforms during the beta. It allows players to issue quick commands, switch between their squads and provide flexibility on the battlefield.
The open beta is not scheduled to last long and will be available until June 10. The game will have a second open beta later this summer.
