PUBG Mobile reveals more details about 2025 esports calendar



PUBG Mobile’s video game publisher, Level Infinite from Tencent Games, unveils future tournaments and events scheduled for the year, including slots, prizes and more. This comes as the 2024 calendar comes to a close following the conclusion of the Grand Finals of 2024 PMGC Champion in London.

A six-minute YouTube video has been posted on PUBG Mobile’s esports channel with news shared by James Yang, senior director of Level Infinite’s Global Esports Center.

A roadmap for the rest of the year has been revealed, along with reminders of already established events such as PUBG Mobile’s return to the Esports World Cup (EWC) as part of its ongoing partnership with Tencent Esports.

PUBG Mobile Global Open Returns with New Rules

Yang reiterated that the PUBG Mobile Global Open (PMGO) would return to Tashkent, Uzbekistan in 2025, but with the introduction of the SMASH ruleset. The grand final lineup has also been announced, which will feature ranked teams from the pro and amateur lineups, in addition to sharing that the PMGO Grand Finals champions will also earn an extra spot for their region at EWC 2025.

It means that once a team reaches 80 points, and takes the Chicken Dinner in any of the remaining matches, they will be crowned PMGO 2025 Champion. If no team wins by SMASH rules, the team with the most points after 12 matches takes the title.

In the 2025 esports calendar, the PMSL will expand to five different regions:

By splitting PMSL EMEA into PMSL Europe and PMSL MENA, we are encouraging more opportunities for regional teams to shine on the global stage. To further encourage participation, we will hold more PMSL qualifiers, up to a total of 29 qualifiers so that all players around the world can access the PMSL.

Yang also reiterated that he will support more third-party tournaments, competitions and content creation events as part of an investment in PUBG Mobile 2025 esports. The PDP design contest is also underway, with a selection of finalists confirmed and under review. The winners will be unveiled as the official skin for PUBG Mobile World Cup 2025 at EWC.
