One of the drawbacks of foldable phones on the Fold format is that you have to accept carrying a larger and heavier device in your pocket than normal-sized ones. But it looks like Oppo may have found a way to reduce the weight of its new Find N2, the phone that will most likely hit the market next month. According to the latest rumors, Oppo’s new foldable will be lighter than an iPhone 14 Pro Max, as well as direct competitors in the market with foldable screens.
Find N2 will also be lighter than “standard” phones like the iPhone 14 Pro Max
Last year’s original Oppo Find N was already among the most compact Fold format handsets, and the Find N2 looks set to adopt a similar shape with a smaller screen size. So the company has focused on reducing the weight of the device to be lighter than the 240 grams that the largest iPhone weighs.
The information was published by IceUniverse, a well-known Chinese leaker, which says that the Find N2 will weigh 15% less than the previous model and significantly less than the Galaxy Z Fold4, Huawei Mate X2, or Vivo X Fold+.

Among the ways Oppo has dropped weight are a new design for the hinge that holds the two halves of the phone together, as well as choosing new, lighter materials for assembling the new model. Still, the new phone is expected to come with hardware upgrades, such as a new processor, and better cameras: a 50-megapixel main sensor, 48-megapixel ultra-wide and 32-megapixel 2x zoom. This format would be similar to what we could also see on the rumored OnePlus 11.
Unfortunately, given that the Oppo Find N hasn’t launched outside of China, we don’t have high hopes that the Chinese manufacturer will bring this model to Europe. We tested the Chinese version of the original Find N and were pleasantly impressed by the build and size, but disappointed by the software experience.
