OnePlus Nord 2T 5G comes with an unusual arrangement of faster cameras and chipset

Completing the OnePlus family, the Nord 2T 5G is the “refresh” version of the Nord 2 model launched last summer, delivered with a faster version of the Dimensity 1200 chipset and performance-optimized cameras.

Starting from the price of 399 euros requested in Europe for the original Nord 2 5G, we can expect the T version to come with a slightly higher price of 450 euros, applicable to the basic version with 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage.

Nord 2T will benefit from the Dimensity 1300 chipset, compared to the 1200 model on Nord 2 and a 6.43 ”90Hz Full HD + OLED display. The 4,500 mAh battery will support fast charging at 80W, just like the OnePlus 10 Pro. It seems that there will be even more configurations, starting from 8 GB RAM and 128 GB storage and reaching up to 12 GB RAM and 256 GB storage. The equipment list also includes a 3.5 mm jack headphone output.

Going back to the unusual arrangement of the cameras, this seems more like a marketing ploy than a real innovation. Basically, we have the same triple-camera configuration found in the Nord 2 model, but with an unconventional arrangement of lenses, the main camera appearing larger than it actually is, while the secondary sensors are framed on a metal ornament without a functional role. Also for no apparent reason, OnePlus split the dual-tone flash into separate modules, one rendering warm light and the other cold light. Next, the main camera is a 50MP model, followed by an 8MP ultra-wide camera and a 2MP macro camera.

Seen from the front, the OnePlus Nord 2T 5G looks unchanged from the non-T model, with the screen and camera having identical specifications.

It remains to be seen whether the 4500mAh battery will offer a higher charging speed than the 65W power previously offered. As for the Dimensity 1300 chipset, it reuses the TSMC 6nm manufacturing process, optimizing only the operating frequencies for a few percent increase in performance.
