Old secrets emerge in Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin: HBO Max releases new trailer for new season. When it premieres

HBO Max has unveiled a new trailer for its highly anticipated series Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin.

As the fourth installment in the Pretty Little Liars franchise, Original Sin comes after the conclusion of the original show in 2017 and its subsequent spinoffs, Ravenswood and Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists. Developed by Robert Aguirre-Sacasa and Lindsay Calhoon Bring, the new series focuses on a fresh cast of characters in the town of Millwood, where a mysterious figure known as “A” begins targeting a group of girls for the sins their parents committed two decades ago.

Now, the latest trailer from HBO Max seems to offer a generous dose of nostalgia for Pretty Little Liars fans. Featuring the same eerie atmosphere that captivated viewers of the original series, the horror of Original Sin begins with a death at the school dance. Stalked and terrorized by an unknown assailant, a group of friends are forced to search for answers, even if it means investigating their own parents’ dark pasts. Among the stars of the new season are Chandler Kinney (Zombies), Bailee Madison (Good Witch), Maia Reficco (Kally’s Mashup), Zaria (Black-ish) and Malia Pyles (Baskets). The cast also includes Mallory Bechtel, Elena Goode, Sharon Leal, Eric Johnson, Lea Salonga and Alex Aiono.

The premiere of the first three of its ten episodes will take place on July 28.

Pretty Little Liars is an American teen mystery thriller television series developed by I. Marlene King. The series, based on the novel series of the same name written by Sara Shepard, follows the lives of five best friends whose group falls apart after the disappearance of their leader, Alison. A year later, estranged friends Spencer, Hanna, Aria and Emily reunite as they begin receiving messages from a mysterious figure called “A” who threatens to reveal their deepest secrets.
