The title will be distributed by Chinese video game conglomerate Tencent Games.the parent company of Riot Games, which also produces League of Legends. This received the approval by the end of December 2022. by the National Press and Publication Administration of the Chinese government.which grants licenses for foreign video games to be distributed in the country.
In addition, Riot Games has published a official trailer on its YouTube channel. to celebrate its arrival. The game will be released under the name 无畏契约 in China, which translates to “Fearles Contract”. Some users in China were already playing the video game unofficially through the use of VPN, but with the official launch it will allow them to play legally and facilitate VALORANT’s national esports tournaments.
Chinese esports organizations have already received invitations to recent VALORANT esports events, most recently the VCT Masters Tokyo, where Chinese team Edward Gaming placed 5th-6th.
The company looks forward to welcoming China and the flagship tournament series, the VALORANT Champions Tour (VCT), in 2024.
