In recent weeks, several companies have held major events with various new announcements. Sony, Microsoft, Ubisoft and many more have all had their own showcases. Nintendo, of course, has been a notable absentee, but it seems the Japanese publisher will soon have its own show as well.
That’s according to hints from prominent insider NateTheHate, who has said in a couple of recent tweets that we can expect a new Nintendo Direct sometime this month. In another tweet, the insider suggests that the Direct will take place sometime between June 20 and June 26.
Interestingly, others have also thrown oil on the fire regarding this leak. Journalist Jeff Grubb recently said in his Game Mess Decides podcast that it is likely that a Nintendo Direct will take place sometime this week, along with another Nintendo event sometime in July, echoing what he said earlier this month. Meanwhile, IGN’s Daemon Hatfield also gave a similar hint in a recent episode of the Game Scoop! podcast, in which he said a Nintendo event could take place sometime this week.
Of course, it’s wise to take all of this with a grain of salt, especially since Nintendo is involved – and you can never be completely sure about a leak involving Nintendo. It will also be interesting to see what the scope of this Direct will be, if it does indeed take place, given previous reports that The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom would be Nintendo’s last major release for the Nintendo Switch (although we can expect Pikmin 4 next month).
