Jonas Gundersen, COO of esports company NIP Group.has announced that is stepping down from his post. Through a publication in social networks, he said that wants to dedicate himself to another company in 2024but did not announce details about his new move at this time.
Gundersen is a well-known face in e-sports, as he has played professionally in Counter-Strike under the nickname “calc” from 2002 to 2006.. Since then, his career has spanned multiple sectors.
Gundersen has founded startups, worked as a poker coach and recorded a music album. He previously worked at Danish e-sports organization North Esports as director of operations before joining Ninjas in Pyjamas in 2020. On the other hand, he has amassed more than 15,000 followers on the social network LinkedIn, where he often shares opinions on leadership and entrepreneurship.
During his time at the company, Gundersen was an important player in the merger of Ninjas in Pyjamas with the Chinese e-sports brand ESV5which resulted in the creation of NIP Group. This enabled NIP to also join the Riot Games’ LPLthe Chinese League of Legends league.
Earlier this year, the e-sports organization announced an agreement with Web3-centric XBorg to create a new fan recruitment application.
My next move involves driving impact and creating value across a variety of entities, and while I can’t reveal too much just yet, 2024 is already full of inspiring journeys, people and projects. I’m really excited about all the positive and ambitious vibes out there, and I feel more than ever that the future of esports looks incredibly bright.
