Hexworks’ Lords of the Fallen is coming out in October, but that doesn’t mean it’s slowing down with the details. After presenting the first 13 minutes of the Souls-like action-RPG, it has been confirmed that there will be a new story trailer for Gamescom Opening Night Live. This one will seemingly shed more light on “that which binds this cruel world.”
A look at the big bad, perhaps? Based on what we know about the story, players must stop the resurrection of Adyr, the demon God, as part of the Dark Crusaders. While traveling through the world of Axiom, there is also Umbral, the Land of the Dead. Using the Umbral Lamp, it is possible to overcome certain obstacles.
When you die, you rise again in Umbral and have limited time to escape before the dead come clawing. Fail, and you go back to the last checkpoint. The Umbral Lantern has other uses, such as extracting an enemy’s soul and damaging it to hurt their body. Go here for more details.
Lords of the Fallen will launch on Oct. 13 for Xbox Series X/S, PS5 and PC. Gamescom Opening Night Live is scheduled for Aug. 22 at 8 p.m., with confirmed titles such as Assassin’s Creed Mirage, Mortal Kombat 1 and more set to appear.
