Although many expected that Pearl Abyss only during Gamescom new gameplay from Crimson Desert would show after the recent postponement, the developer already surprised with more than 13 minutes of fresh footage. In it, we see main character Cliff who joins the Calphadean army To recapture their castle.
From cannon fire to bring down watchtowers to blood-curdling battles through an entire settlement toward the castle – Kliff lets some new skills and weapons see. Thus, we get the spear seen in action, as well as special attacks where he blasts enemies with elemental energy or races through them at lightning speed.
Once he arrives at the castle, Kliff meets his ally Oongka, who wields a giant battle hammer. Together they take on Cassius Morten, a traitor to the empire. This intense battle showcases creative mechanics, such as the use of a pillar to inflict heavy damage on Cassius. In the end, we see Kliff triumphantly take the victory fire ignite.
Whether this is the exact same demo that visitors will soon see on Gamescom may play, is not yet clear. What is certain: Crimson Desert appears in the first quarter of 2026 for Xbox Series X/S, PS5 and PC.
