NASA advocates efforts to address climate change and global warming -.

NASA has issued a press release that seems to specifically prove that climate change and global warming is a problem we are facing. In the release, NASA specifically states that July 2023 was the warmest month on record since 1880, and that the month was also 0.24 degrees Celsius warmer than last July and 1.18 degrees Celsius warmer than the average between 1951 and 1980.

If the data were not enough, NASA Administrator Bill Nelson stated: “NASA data confirms what billions around the world literally felt: temperatures in July 2023 made it the warmest month on record. In every corner of the country, Americans are experiencing firsthand the effects of the climate crisis right now, underscoring the urgency of President Biden’s historic climate agenda. The science is clear. We must act now to protect our communities and planet; it is the only one we have.”

To build on this, NASA chief scientist and senior climate advisor, Katherine Calvin, added: “Climate change affects people and ecosystems around the world, and we expect many of these effects to escalate with continued warming. Our agency observes climate change, its impacts and its causes, such as greenhouse gases, and we are committed to providing this information to help people plan for the future.”

As a third and final point, Goddard Institute for Space Studies director Gavin Schmidt said: “This July was not only warmer than any previous July – it was the warmest month in our record, dating back to 1880. The science is clear that this is not normal. Alarming warming around the world is primarily caused by man-made greenhouse gas emissions. And that rise in average temperature is fueling dangerous extreme heat that people are experiencing here at home and around the world.”

To sign off, NASA even issued a warning that we can probably expect the greatest impact of climate change between February and April in 2024.
