I left an electric toothbrush to my biter. A good idea? (Image: Maxe S., Gamestar)
I have been driving with manual operation for over 30 years when it comes to toothbrushes. When I held a toothbrush in my hands at last year’s IFA, which I was enthusiastic about because of her feel, it was an initial spark for me.
I wanted to try electric toothbrushes and see if they are worth it. So it was time for another self -experiment.
If you are considering switching to an electric toothbrush yourselfI will tell you my knowledge in the course of the article and whether it is worth it.
You already clean electricallymy experience report will not have anything new for you.
Pictures say more than a thousand words
In my first article on the Laifen Wave I wrote that I had asked my dentist if he would already see a difference after four weeks.
In fact, I had (still) less covering on my teeth, and after only around a month of use (and tartar removal was also faster, but that is only my personal assessment).
At the beginning of July I was at my half -year check And this time I wanted to know: How clean are my teeth really?
An assessment of my dentist Dr. Quaschner after four weeks is of course one thing, but whether an electric toothbrush really has a sustainable effect and is good for your teeth is on a different sheet. To my regret, I have no comparison pictures when I still cleaned by hand.
So this time I have evidence photos. I was applied to my teeth a plaque dicator to check how clean they are. In other words, it was visible with a blue color where the dental panel is located.
- Red indicates where fresh surface lies on the teeth.
- The blue the spots are, the older the surface.
A notice: Below you can see three pictures of me and my teeth. Because not everyone wants to look into my mouth, I packed the pictures behind a spoiler.

You can see in the picturesthat there is not much covering on my teeth. Here and there are a few pink stains. The covering probably came from lunch.
I didn’t have blue coveringsnot even in the interdental spaces. Yes, I use dental floss, but only isolated. The fact that no old dental plaque has accumulated there goes on the cap of my toothbrush.
In terms of feeling, my teeth are less occupiedsince I no longer use a hand toothbrush.
For me, switching to an electric toothbrush is a success, but is that something for everyone?
On the next page I tell you my 5 knowledge after the change if you also think about getting an electric toothbrush.
