More than 200 immigrants who were preparing to cross into the Canary Islands detained by the Moroccan authorities

The authorities and security services have arrested 231 immigrants from sub-Saharan Africa in the El Aaiún region, in Western Sahara, and in Tarfaya, on the coast of Morocco, who were about to cross into the Canary Islands.

Specifically, they have reported that in the last two days, at least 180 immigrants have been detained in El Aaiún, while this Tuesday the Moroccan security forces have detained 17 immigrants in the city of Tarfaya, according to the agency of MAP state news.

In addition, this Wednesday, around 02:30 a.m. (local time), 34 people have been arrested in Tarfaya, from whom an inflatable boat, an engine and 7 25-liter gasoline drums have been seized, according to the aforementioned media.
