The organization CBZN Esports has launched Athena League.a league that strengthens the female presence in the MLBB eSports scene. The league is intended to be an official qualifier for the upcoming Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Women’s Invitational, which will take place this year at the Esports World Cup in Saudi Arabia.
The Philippines has already proven to be one of the top contenders in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, as Team Omega Empress took home the win at the 2024 Women’s Invitational. And this new organization aims to not only support those battling to qualify for the invitational tournament, but to offer broader support for women getting started in eSports.
The underrepresentation of women in the world of eSports is often lamented. These types of events help up-and-comers hone their skills and give them a chance to break onto the world stage.
Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, has followed in the footsteps of many other competitive video games by providing conditional support for the female scene, and will return once again with a new edition of the Women’s Invitational.
