Metges de Catalunya and Salut bring positions closer and will continue negotiating on Monday, two days before the strike

The general secretary of Metges de Catalunya (MC), Xavier Lleonart, has ratified the call for the two-day health strike scheduled for January 25 and 26 and has asked the Generalitat to “concreteness and scheduling” of the proposals for improving the situation of workers and to call off the mobilizations. The union had disassociated itself in December from the agreement reached between employers and unions in the health care sector.

He said this in statements to journalists after the meeting this afternoon in which participated the Minister of Health of the Generalitat, Manel Balcells, deputy director of the Catalan Health Service (CatSalut), Alfredo García, and the Secretary General of Health, Mercè Salvat, among other representatives of the department.
