Evald Krnic is a pretty impressive man. He just won the 73rd annual bridge diving competition in Kosovo, where, as you may have guessed, people do their best to jump off a bridge into the cold White Din River below.
“You don’t just jump, you fly.” he told Reuters. “The primary emotion is that of life. If you are not afraid, you cannot jump because there is no adrenaline rush and you can end up making mistakes that can lead to injuries. The beauty of this sport lies in overcoming that fear and taking the leap.”
The sport is not common, and it seems to be for serious thrill-chasers, but it is not only centered in Kosovo. Krnic competed last year in the Bosnian city of Mostar and jumped a whopping 22 meters to the river below.
