A few days ago we reported on the leak that claimed a Lego Jurassic World Tyrannosaurus rex full fossil set would soon make its debut. While it was very clear at the time that the product was legitimate because the packaging leaked, we lacked hard details about it. That has since changed.
Lego has unveiled the officially titled Jurassic World Dinosaur Fossils: Tyrannosaurus rex. It is a complete model of the famous dinosaur’s skeleton, and it is also a very large model. It is 33 cm high and 105 cm long (that’s more than three feet!), and it also consists of a whopping 3,145 pieces.
We have been told that it is “offers articulated joints, including a movable head, a mouth that opens and adjustable arms and tail, allowing for dynamic and customizable displays. The set also includes a display stand, an information board and hidden franchise Easter eggs, such as an ‘amber’ piece, that add layers of authenticity and nostalgia.”
With minifigures of the original Jurassic Park ‘s Dr. Ellie Sattler (Laura Dern) and Dr. Alan Grant (Sam Neill) included, and no models of Jurassic World: Rebirth ‘s Scarlett Johansson’s Zora Bennett and Jonathan Bailey’s Dr. Henry Loomis, you may be wondering how much of a dent this set will put on your bank account. The good news is that while it’s not cheap, it’s certainly not the most expensive Lego set either. It will retail for £219.99 / €249.99, with plans to debut around the world on March 15 and for Lego Insiders on March 12.
