Lego and Nintendo have collaborated many times before for various Super Mario sets, but generally these sets are aimed at a younger audience (with The Mighty Bowser being the exception). Now the two have pulled back the curtain on a new set seemingly recalibrated for an older and more mature audience.
Known as the Super Mario Piranha Plant, this set spans 500 pieces and is made to be an adjustable set to serve as a centerpiece for the home or office.
According to Lego, senior designer Carl Merriam adds: “When designing the Piranha plant, it felt important to capture its distinctive features and ensure that the set could be positioned in a way that reflects its iconic poses. I am so proud of the end result, from the mouth to the leaves and stem, that we managed to perfectly capture the menacing essence of the Piranha plant!”
The Super Mario Piranha Plant launches on November 6, 2023 and retails for €64.99 / £57.99.
